Information regarding football at Astley & Buckshaw Juniors.

We currently have 3 competitive junior teams at Under 14’s, 12’s and 9’s who will be playing next year in the Mid Lancs Colts and the Central Lancs Leagues on a Sunday.

We hope that your children are happy just to come and be coached on a Saturday, however the club is keen to have new teams to come through each season.

Future Teams We are sure that many of you would like to see your children playing in a team at some point in the future, however the only way this will happen is if you, the parents, get involved.

“Personally I was keen to make sure that a team was formed to give the lads an opportunity to experience the competitive side of the game that we all love.  I can honestly say, the biggest shock to me was how much I personally enjoyed the coaching on a Saturday and running our team.  If I had never volunteered, I would never have got the personal satisfaction that I get out of it now.”
Matt Loughlin U 13’s Coach.

Help with Coaching Astley & Buckshaw is particularly looking for volunteers to shadow some of the existing coaches on a Saturday morning.  This is all with a view to you at some point, helping organise a team in the future or just helping with the training and coaching.

Experience is definitely NOT required.  Our senior coach runs the current Under 9’s and the Under 12’s and 14’s are run by parents of the teams, neither of which had any previous coaching experience.  Please ask them what they think about the coaching and running a team.

Help with the Committee & Organising New Teams If you are keen to help in a non coaching capacity, we need your help as well.  It may be that you are not be interested in coaching but would still like to see your child in a team in future.  We need help organising events, new teams and assisting preparing the pitch and nets for the games.  We also need more input, opinion and ideas on our small committee.

Yes, we look very organised on a Saturday morning, but please do not assume that we do not need extra help.  We really do.

If you are interested in learning more about the coaching, running a team, sitting on the committee or just getting involved, please email your interest to webmaster@astleyvillagejuniorsfc.co.uk or speak to one of the coaches before or after a session.

Please pass this information on if you know someone else who may be interested in getting involved.

Thanks
All at Astley & Buckshaw Juniors
